Form VII B Reviews about the Teatro Colón
We were told that this theatre had the best acoustics and it was one of the most famous in the world. We spent the whole afternoon on a Tuesday at that place. There was a guide that explained to us many things about it.
The floors and walls were very well laid and built and many different materials were used for the façade. Marbles and tiles were brought from European countries such as Italy, Spain and England. There were huge rooms where people could talk and meet each other before entering the main opera house. Operas, plays and other things were showed there.
The best part was when we entered the official box, the place with the best view inside the auditorium. Unfortunately, the staff was checking light effects and the place was dark, so we couldn’t see it very well. Despite that, it was a nice school outing.

It is one of world´s top five acoustic opera houses and a national symbol as well as a historic monument. It was founded on May 25th in 1908 and it has been an important Argentinian icon for 109 years.
Some of the things that struck me the most are the golden gallery, the charming chandeliers, paintings and stained glass windows.
All kinds of materials: beautiful marble and gold were brought from Europe to build the theatre. The high ceiling with domes, paintings and carvings is the proof of the workers and artists’ remarkable job. But the most enchanting thing is the official box, including everything, from velvet seats to the best place to see a play.

Colon theatre is an amazing opera house in the City of Buenos Aires and I liked visiting it because it’s a very old building and there’s a lot of history that lies behind this place.
The part that I liked the best was when we entered the principal box: the official box. It was pretty, the dome was huge and the paints were unbelievable.
It was an enriching experience and I would like to go back, but this time I would love to see opera or ballet.
I think Colón theatre is a very interesting building here in B.A. It was built in 1908, the same year our school was founded. Colon theatre is known as the theatre with the best acoustic in the world.

There we saw sculptures, dancers’ costumes and lots of paintings.
What I loved the best was the Golden Hall with its colourful stained glasses in the ceiling.
We were lucky on that day because we saw a little bit of Little Thumb’s rehearsal there.
I feel so glad to have visited one of the most renowned opera houses in the world.
