VDS Head invited to IB Workshops

Last week I had the great pleasure of going back to teaching face to face IB workshops. I was invited by the IB to deliver a DP Physics workshop for IB teachers in the Fairfax County Public Schools, Virginia, US. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with the breadth and depth of the IB Diploma Programme, interacting with teachers and colleagues from different parts of the world, and also to get to visit nearby Washington, DC.

At school we have other members of staff who actively participate in the IB Educator Network, as Workshop Leaders and part of School Visit Teams. Our IB Coordinator, Roberto Mancuso, and our Head of Experimental Sciences, Mariana Alvarez, regularly visit other schools and deliver workshops (virtual or in person) in other countries, invited by IB or by local districts.

It is a privilege to be able to participate in these instances, and an added value to the school as it immediately feeds back into our school and practice. We thank the school staff that supports us in our absences!
