More about Retiro Clock Tower

The Bulletin, by ABCC, published the note Great-grandfather´s Retiro Clock Tower written by Benjamin (Ben) Gardom´s great-grandson, Roderick Cameron. (Whole note)

For much of my childhood I was convinced that the Clock Tower at Retiro was made of toy bricks from Mis Ladrillos, an Argentine version of Lego. Sometimes I would spend a few days with my grandparents in Hurlingham, and when my grandmother had to come to town I would ride the train withe her, get off at the San Martín terminus (which for her was Pacífico), and as we walked past the Clock Tower she would say to me, with great pride: «My grandfather built that tower.»  ….. Later I understood that it was not Benjamin Gardom, who built the Tower, but his firm Hopkins and Gardom Ltd.

(Nota)
