Form VII – Writing

Students in Form VII have worked with the movie “School of Rock”. After watching some scenes, they were asked to write an email either as Dewey or as one of the children in the band, and they were also asked to include certain information. Take a look at these two emails by Victoria Harris and Lucía Martín from 7th”A”. 

Lucía Martín:

Dear Johnny,  How are things with you, dude? Listen up, Mr. Greenwich has broken his leg!! So a substitute teacher came today, Mr. Schneebly, but we call him Mr. S.  He is the most freaky teacher I’ve ever seen. He’s fat, with long hair and LOVES Rock & Roll.  However, he’s cool because the first days he gave us recess all day long.  And now we are working on a project which consists in a rock band.  I’m the drummer and it’s AWESOME man!!  You spread your energy rocking!  We’ve been playing and practicing for a few weeks and we are doing pretty good.  Oh, and something else… YOU CAN’T TELL ANYBODY!!!  It’s our secret.                                                          See you soon,                               Freddie

Victoria Harris:

Dear Anne, I’m sorry I haven’t written to you for ages. I’m having a really tight agenda these days. Last week a new floating teacher came into the class, he is called Mr. Schneebly. He made some of my classmates play different instruments. He gave me the role of Band Manager. This project consists in a battle of bands, and if we win, the prize will be amazing! But SHH…, this project is a secret. My job is to see if everybody is doing his job and see if all the things are going well. I’m sorry Anne, I’m a very busy girl, I have to go now.
