Kindergarten Book Fair
The VDS Kindergarten Book Fair attracts families every year, providing an opportunity for them to engage in reading activities with their children. The book selection and sales were managed by two publishing houses, Los Libros del Vendaval and Kel, offering a diverse range of books in both Spanish and English.
The fair encompassed a variety of literary activities that catered to all of our students, including simultaneous readings, storytelling sessions, playful scenarios, and engaging graphic and artistic activities. Notably, some of the readers were Senior School CAS students who actively participated in the event.
This year, the fair centred around the renowned author Anthony Browne, whose captivating books served as the central theme. Born in Sheffield, England in 1946, Browne boasts a remarkable career spanning over 20 years as a children’s illustrator. With a portfolio of more than fifty books, Browne skilfully encourages readers to develop their observation skills. His work has been translated into over fifteen languages, establishing him as one of the foremost creators of album books worldwide. Browne’s intricate visual universe captivates readers, fostering active, attentive, and empathetic engagement.
